Star Trek: Bridge Crew is one of the most anticipated VR games. Developed by Red Storm Entertainment (Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, Far Cry 3/4 and The Division), this 4-player co-op game lets you delve into the rich Star Trek universe and take the role of either captain, tactical officer, engineer or helm officer. Star Trek: Bridge Crew is set in alternate reality of the 2009 Star Trek movie and it puts you in control of USS Aegis. Your ultimate mission? Find a new habitable planet for the Vulcans. To that end, you are set on a course for the Trench, a territory run by the Klingons and that, as you surely might have guessed, goes hand in hand just like ice-cream on pizza.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew was supposed to be out in November, but it got postponed because the developers wanted to take their time and expand upon their game in terms of additional content and extra polish. Come spring, however, it’s Ubisoft’s hope that the game will be fully done and gamers can finally get into it on 30 May. Not only this, but aside from USS Aegis, you will be able to step into the iconic Enterprise.

“We felt it was important to include a part of classic Star Trek with this game…the original USS Enterprise is such an iconic part of the franchise–it’s the ship that started it all.
The adventures and relationships that took place on the ship are a special part of Star Trek history, so we were determined to give players the opportunity to create their own adventures and stories on this classic ship. We’re very excited to see player reactions when they step onto the USS Enterprise original bridge for the first time, and experience Star Trek: Bridge Crew in a whole new way.”, says Senior Creative Director, David Votypka.

If you look over at Steam, you’ll see that Star Trek: Bridge Crew requires HTC Vive virtual reality headset, but Ubisoft has recently confirmed that the game will support Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR as well, all for the small price of $59.99!
